Working with a developer encapsulates various disciplines of Civil Engineering. Not only do I get exposure to different specialisms, I often get to see the product of the work I do throughout the project lifecycle, and I have more involvement in so many elements of the final product; from substructures and infrastructure to boundary treatments and landscaping.
I have always loved to invent creative solutions to problems. Right from primary school I would always try and elevate design related projects with a unique flare. Going to an engineering specialist secondary school was a no-brainer choice for me and I was encouraged to pursue my passions and find a sector to focus my career on. Working with a housing developer involves so many unique elements. Part of the work I do is designing infrastructure such as levels, roads and drainage. I also coordinate projects to ensure stakeholders such as local councils, highways authorities and housing association’s needs and requirements are met.
